Mr. Szewczyk is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of BP Energy Partners (BPEP) and has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since its founding in 2012. Mr. Szewczyk has more than 20 years of investing experience across multiple asset classes.
As a Managing Partner of BPEP, Mr. Szewczyk is responsible for co-managing the investment activities of BPEP and its affiliates, including deal sourcing, evaluation, structuring, transaction execution, and setting the strategic direction for BPEP and its affiliated investment entities.
Prior to founding BPEP, he worked for more than a decade for the late T. Boone Pickens at BP Capital, where he was responsible for managing energy-related investments. Mr. Szewczyk served as Co-General Partner of BP Capital’s Equity Fund and was a member of BP Capital’s Investment Committee. BP Capital’s private investments focused on infrastructure, power, renewables, and traditional energy.
Mr. Szewczyk has more than 12 years of board experience across a wide range of industries and geographies. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Mesa Natural Gas Solutions LLC, a leader in sustainable distributed power and microgrid technologies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of several BPEP portfolio companies.
Mr. Szewczyk received an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a BA in economics from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York.
