Mr. Raney provides guidance to the firm in areas of battery and hydrogen fuels and fuel cell technologies, renewable electricity, energy storage, low carbon fuel policy and incentive mechanisms and environmental and energy policy.
He has forty years of experience in the automotive and clean fuels industries serving in corporate strategy and planning, product planning, products liability and risk management and regulatory compliance executive roles with Saab-Scania AB, General Motors, Honda and most recently with Toyota where he retired in 2020. He is currently the Managing Partner of his private consulting firm DW Raney Associates, Inc. based in Dallas, Texas. He brings to the firm a wealth of knowledge of the future of clean energy technology and markets as well as industry and government stakeholders. He is on several academic and other industry Boards in an advisory capacity as well as an adjunct professor at UC Santa Barbara.
Mr. Raney has a BSME from the University of Oklahoma (1980) and an Executive MBA from UCLA (2008).
